
2008 Press Release: Constitution Week Declared by Mayor

September 5, 2008
September 17-23, 2008 is Constitution Week
in the City of Des Plaines. Des Plaines Mayor Tony Arredia, in the
presence of members of the 21st Star Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), recently signed a
proclamation recognizing the "many benefits of our Federal
Constitution and American citizenship."
Each year members of the DAR recognize this week with the signing
of an official proclamation. The proclamation states "Our Founding
Fathers, in order to secure the blessings of liberty for themselves
and their posterity, did ordain and establish a Constitution for the
United State of America." (pictured above left to right) Des Plaines
Mayor Tony Arredia (left) presents DAR Member Barbara Hale (right)
with the official proclamation signed in his office.
