Special Events:
First Lady's Luncheon
Over 120 individuals attended the Des Plaines First Lady’s Lunch
hosted by Mrs. Jean Arredia on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at the Café
La Cave. The Program, which is a benefit for the Des Plaines
Community Foundation, was highlighted by Interior Designer Tara
Gruber who spoke on the "Fundamentals of Interior Design: What You
Need To Know." Gruber operates Interiors By TGI. During the
course of the event, Rosemary Argus, Alderman of the 8th
Ward and Executive Director of the Des Plaines Foundation presented
Mrs. Arredia with a tea set. This marked the 6th Annual
First Lady’s Luncheon.

Lady’s Lunch. Catlett has served on the planning committee for the
First Lady’s Lunch since it began six years ago.

Des Plaines First Lady Jean Arredia (left) and City Clerk Donna
McAllister (right) greeted attendees at the First Lady’s Lunch as
they entered the Café La Cave. McAllister also gave the invocation
at the First Lady’s event.

The First Lady’s Luncheon was highlighted by a presentation on
Interior Design, a raffle, and cello music presented by mother and
son, Charlotte and Lucas Jackson, and Natalie Kozenczak. The music
was arranged by Orchestra Instructor Mr. Jim Hajost, Des Plaines
Elementary School District 62. (pictured above left to right) Lucas
Jackson, Charlotte Jackson and Natalie Kozenczak entertain at the
First Lady’s Lunch.

Alderman Rosemary Argus, who is also
the Executive Director of the Des Plaines Community Foundation, and
her granddaughters at the First Lady's Lunch. Proceeds from the
Luncheon were contributed to the First Lady's Lunch.

attendance at the First Lady's Lunch. (pictured above left to right)
Ann Tennes, Rita Erdmann, Cathy Greene (seated), Karen Kozenczak and
Jo Reilly pose for a photograph at the Lunch. One of the highlights
of the lunch was a raffle. The following contributed to the raffle:

Realtor, Deb Crowell, Starbucks, Pesche's Flower Shop, Gifts &
Greenhouses, Inc. and Kuhn's Delicatessen
